Suspect in custody following shooting in Winslow
Shooting Incident
WINSLOW, AZ - On March 18, 2023, at 2:10 pm, officers were dispatched to 1217 West Fleming for a disturbance.
During the investigation, they found that 23-year-old Jose Luis Rivera Jr had been shot. The shooting happened at the residence at 1609 West Fourth Street. Mr. Rivera declined transport by ambulance and was taken to the Little Colorado Medical Center emergency room by a private vehicle for treatment of his injury. He was released from the hospital later that day.
The shooter, who had fled the area on foot was apprehended by officers within a few minutes of the incident. He was identified as 22 year old Anthony Michael Sundwall. Sundwall was booked into the Navajo County Jail in Holbrook on charges of aggravated assault and endangerment.
