Navajo Department of Agriculture reminds livestock haulers to obtain inspection certs
NAVAJO NATION - Department of Agriculture has issued a public service announcement (PSA) reminding all livestock haulers of the mandatory certifications required for transportation through the Navajo Nation.
Physical copies of the following documents are necessary:
Seasonal Livestock Inspection Certificates (Hauling Permits) are mandatory at all times.
Annual hauling permits issued by a Brand Inspector are valid for the calendar year and expire on December 31 of that year.
Resale Permits for livestock being transported to market should not be confused with the aforementioned hauling permits.
Appropriate health records and test results for each class of livestock.
Electronic or photographic copies of documents will not be accepted for verification purposes.
The Navajo Department of Agriculture urges all livestock haulers to comply with these regulations to ensure the safety and health of the animals, and to avoid any potential penalties. For any further queries or questions, the department can be contacted at (928) 871-6605, or the Department of Resource Enforcement at (928) 871-7336.
